The Snyder Companies, a family owned and operated business founded in 1906, continues it’s mission to diversify their portfolio holdings and invest in the Midwest. Founder Jack Snyder began developing land at age 18 with the opening of two A & W Root Beer Stands. The Snyder Companies are currently owned by son Stephen Snyder, President; Charles Farner, Executive-Vice President; Dave Fedor, Chief Financial Officer ;and Ron Powell, Executive-Vice Presiden. STEPHEN SNYDER President of the Snyder Companies Owner Stephen Snyder graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in business in 1975, returned to his hometown in Bloomington, Illinois and started the real estate company known as Prudential Snyder Real Estate (PSRE). With a sales force of 110 agents, PSRE is considered a premiere real estate and major developer in Central Illinois. Stephen Snyder has also been active in the community by giving his time on different boards and committees such as Illinois State University, Bloomington Rotary, YMCA, Second Presbyterian Church, The Mayor’s Committee, United Way, MDA, Bloomington-Normal Association of REALTORS® and the Missouri Valley. Stephen is married to Nancy and they have four children and two grandchildren. RON POWELL Executive Vice-President of The Snyder Companies Owner Ron oversees all commercial property maintenance and development of construction projects for residential and commercial sectors. He has been involved with Snyder Companies’ construction projects for over 30 years and has been a Vice-President and member of the Board of Directors for Snyder Companies since 1997. Ron is also directly involved with hiring and supervision of maintenance staff for all divisions, and has directed the construction growth of all Snyder Company sub-divisions and commercial properties. DAVE FEDOR Chief Financial Officer of The Snyder Companies Owner Dave Fedor graduated from Illinois State University with a B.S. in Accounting and Business Education. Dave is a Certified Public Accountant and has been Chief Financial Officer for the last 18 years for the Snyder Companies. Dave is married to Deborah and has had a long time affiliation with The Children’s Foundation, current board member and past board president. Currently on the Board of Freestar Bank. Former board member of Marcfirst and Miller Park Zoological Society. CHARLIE FARNER Executive Vice President of the Snyder Companies Owner Charlie Farner is 1986 graduate of Wartburg College  in Waverly, IA. He received his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 1995.  He began his career with Snyder Insurance in Bloomington more than 20 years ago and in 1995 was appointed as Agency Manager. Under his direction the agency has grown to five times its size from when he took over. In 2004 he became a part owner of our parent company Snyder Corporations and is now Vice President of Insurance. Charlie has been active in the Professional Independent Insurance Agents of Illinois (PIIAI) and is a past director on their Board. He is involved in a number of local volunteer activities including Special Olympics, the Marcfirst Foundation Board, Children’s Foundation and American Legion Baseball. He is a member of the McLean County Chamber of Commerce and St. John’s Lutheran Church. Charlie and his wife Collette reside in Bloomington with their children Alex, Zachary, and Jacob.
